This is a little odd . This Car was for sale about about 2 months ago for $22K. It was sold but buyer backed out . I'd like to note that the car was in a much more original appearance at that time . it then went back on the market again for $20K . I know someone who was very interested at $20 K but the seller would not return calls and then the ad disappeared , so it was assumed it was sold again.

Now it's back for sale at a further reduced price and with new exhaust and wheels ??? . The seller just dropped at least 2-3K in updates and further dropped the price ?
It sure looks like good value now .....

Yes, this was Iver's car. It has had significant upgrades (including paint) since Iver sold it.

What do you guys think of the "Richmond 373 gears" in it ?  Is that too much ?

I want to change the gears on my 396/t400 and it's been mentioned that 3.08s are more practical.

If you only do city driving, 3.73 is fun but if you do highway driving you'll hate them real fast.

3.31 is a nice compromise, depending on your tire height of course.

this car was at the mopar labour day show - it wasn't in the show but was parked nearby - seemed to have a big of rust in the passenger side rocker at that time101_9119.JPG101_9120.JPG

With no od, 3.08s are good and you can play with tire size for highway use.

By the sound of the posts on this car, you might want to go see it in person before making a deal. Spend more money on changes and drop price makes me wonder if there are some negatives about it that have shown up. I

This Caprice was most likely born with 2.73. I've seen a lot of that in 67 B bodies.

2.73s generally with the Hydramatics. I think 3.07s would be sporty enough without hampering top-end. Actually that car has a/c, and if factory a/c then 3.07s are already standard.

3.73s plus drag radials = bracket racing every weekend.

I don't have any proof but it seems to me wagons might have been 3.07 standard too? I have a posi from a 67 wagon and it's a 3.07.

my docs for my 67 427 Caprice with A/C  show no gear option ordered and I am pretty sure they are 3.07

My 66 Caprice 396 325hp w/TH400 had 2.73's, were real nice all around gears

I also had a 66 Caprice with the same setup, with 2.73 ratio it was a good highway car, not too bad on gas for a big block.

The codes on my 68 396/t400 say the gears are 2.56 non-posi.

Would really like to go to 3.07/3.08 posi.

Seem like a reasonable setup ? I  do like to highway drive.

For what its worth my 66 Grande (396 Powerglide with AC) came with 3:31's although without AC it would have had 3:07's. I think the TH400 setup with the 396 would have had 2.73's.

The 3:31's work very well with the TH700r4 I've got in there now. As a highway car it cruises very nicely at 125kms/hour with stock height tires at 2300 rpm.

With the 4 gears in the 700r4 it has very nice pull too.

Its has really made that car versatile and cheaper on gas too.

Perfect 3 pedal conversion candidate for that kind of money. If I were in the market for something that's what I would buy and do..........
