64 4 speed convert lost firewall vin

Hi guys. I have a 64 Acadian Beaumont 283 convertible factory 4spd with power top. I have had it for ten years, ran great, then put in garage. I have doubles of all chrome. I dont know where but firewall vin tag is missing. I am considering trading or restoration. I do think with options it is super rare and am wondering if anyone knows value and steps I should do going forward? Thxs guys for your time!

Do you mean the trim tag is missing? I think that the VIN tag is on the driver Side door post between the door hinges.

If it's just the firewall tag, there are places that reproduce them. I would get the GM documents for that car and from that you/we would be able to figure out what data would be on the tag.

If the vin tag off the door post is missing I'm afraid you're out of luck. Nobody can legally reproduce that for you.

These are the folks: http://www.trimtags.com/

Not legal in Oklahoma, FWIW.

Not every option appears on the Oshawa tags, but on a '64 I would expect B70 if it has a padded dash, T86 for backup lights, TOPxx for the convertible top colour code, M20 for the 4-speed, and C06 if it has a power top. Engine & radio don't appear, but in the extremely rare case of a rear antenna I would also expect U73.

Yes, and I believe U80 for rear speaker would be another common one on the tags. Maybe not in 64? Later models sometime have it I believe.

According to GMVVS docs mine has a folding top and C06 is on the data tag.
Have C14 wiper system windshield electric but not on tag
Have T86 back up lamps which are on the tag
Tag has TOP2 which should be black convertible top
Have a padded dash but it isn't mentioned in the docs or on the tag ( might it have been standard with SD? )

Would rear seat speaker have been available in a convertible?

Good point about the rear speaker. It was in A body, but I think maybe 66 or 67 was the first year now that you mention it.

1967 was the 1st year for the U80 Auxiliary Rear Speaker on the Chevelle or Beaumont convertible body style. That year they used a new wedge-shaped speaker box that mounted on the back side of the seat cushion and aimed the speaker upwards towards the top of the back window.
