Windscreen pillar rubber seal advice needed

hi all,

i am installing the screen pillar side window rubbers. Looks like there should be a steel support bracket of some description at the top. The slot in the rubber indicates this and as is it has no support. Can anyone have a sqizz at theirs and see what should be there please? Thanks.

hi Phillip; sold that pillar post seal for years. I  believe the original GM seal had a steel insert near the top that a screw went thru. The repops don't have that. You are expected to use the original steel insert or use the screw by itself. It is a pretty secure friction fit, so a lot of guys counted on that.  Good luck

Ok folks, made a couple of new brackets but obviously, these were originally moulded into the rubber seal So most of this bracket wont fit into the new seal. There is a pocket in the repro seal but what section do i insert into the repro seal? has me bamboozled...
