Great day for a wedding!

This is what happens when the collar that holds the bearing that holds the axle that holds the wheel disappears up the axle shaft on the way to a wedding on a busy road furious

Luckily plenty of people stopped offering help, but only one guy had a hydraulic jack. Had to jack the wheel clear of the ground in order to push the assembly back in, just so we could get the car on the tow truck.

Had a mate that could bring a second wedding car at short notice thankfully.

Always wondered why when I had various diffs apart there were little dabs of weld on some of the collars. The new collar now has little dabs of weld on it biggrin

We were very lucky that we were pulling up the a Give Way sign and not travelling 60mph. Was a slow day for the cop and he thoroughly enjoyed himself checking out the cars, and being a local cop he knew everyone going past.

That Whitehall will need a little buffing. Great that you were able to get it stopped without further damage.

Glad the damage was minimal, and everyone is all right.

The whitewall was originally 20mm but after the shave turned out to be 40mm.

As with the 59 we were both lucky to be travelling slowly at the time.

Todd: Shirts spotless, left Logan to load the car and bring it home

Carl Carl Carl.... We all know the steering wheels on the right side biggrin

Thanks Ted.

Timbuk: Our cop cars are imported from Australia. This ones a 2017 Holden Commodore, 3.6 V6, 6 speed auto. Not a big engine but then the crims here don't drive anything too much faster. This is what they should be driving.

And check out the steering wheel Carl biggrin

I am having deja vu here. Seems to me we had another feature car (green 59 hardtop) lose a wheel the same way.

Good that there wasn't much more damage or personal harm.

At least you weren't in the minus Celsius temps like here when it happened!smile
