Good question. Do you have a base picture?

I was sitting here looking up dual snorkel air cleaners for a relative of mine who needs one when you posted this!

Is it for sale?

It differs a bit from the one on my convertible as mine has the vent tube from the passenger side valve cover coming up through the bottom. This one appears to have the vent go into the squared hole in the side / rear. Not sure what the 2 smaller squared holes by the large hole are for.

The lid looks like newer than 70'ish to me, but that's may not narrow it down enough.

70 SS Chevelle air cleaner had the snorkels that narrowed toward the ends..

71 was more like that, but had those vacuum controlled doors.

The L88 Corvette one, the base was lowered, to clear hood I guess

I'm going with 1973+ Corvette. The black painted lid that is smaller diameter than the base is a giveaway. There would have been a large rubber seal that seals the unit to the underside of the Corvette's hood. See below:

73 Corvette L48.jpg

I was originally going to say it is for a '70 - '72 Z28 or Corvette, but  the same air cleaner with a painted instead of chromed lid was used on the 1965 396 L78, the 1965 Z-16 Chevelle & the 1966 427 L72.

The '74 Z28 used something similar but the lid had some lower contours, plus the twin snorkels were made shorter to clear the a/c compressor (a/c became a new Z28 option for '73). Also there would be clearance underneath for an EGR valve. In '73 the Z28 used the open-element air cleaner similar to the '67 - '69 style but for '73-only it had clearance for the EGR valve. '73 open element air cleaners are very rare today.
