If he had that appraised at $80,000, it wasn't done professionally. At a glance it doesn't exhibit a level of resto for that claim. Starting with the $100 wheels.

The resto probably did cost over 100k. Could easily have been 1000 hours in labor alone not counting parts. Appraisal seems ok.

I didn't think what an owner might have tied up in a car, either to buy it or restoration costs, mattered when an appraiser put a resale or insurance value on a vehicle?
