Just an update on fund raising for Canadian Poncho. Thanks to Mike (UrbanSuburban) putting me in contact with a local printer we will hopefully get some affordable window decals. Also don't forget to click on the eBay link if you are planning some shopping on that website. We get a token amount from eBay if you make a purchase. There hasn't been much use of it so far this month (the site has earned a whopping 3 bucks so far). Also please remember to disable your ad blocker when on the forum. Google tells me January ad revenue was down 40%. 

In 2018 it cost $2583.78 to run the website. This includes domain names, Activeboard hosting, accounting fees etc. My time is not included in that number. Thanks to ads, eBay affiliation, swag sales and member donations we we able to cover costs and that's much appreciated! Hosting costs cost more when the Canadian dollar drops as Activeboard charges in US funds. Hopefully the dollar will rally back at some point.

I appreciate you posting up the actual costs Todd. That's a lot of money, never mind your time. When you visited here, I remember seeing how much time you had to put in approving new applications, dealing with private messages, etc.

This is good incentive for all of us to step up.

Todd,please start charging a membership fee, voluntary-10-25 $. maybe include a window sticker for the fee. if only 1-200 guys out of 4000 pay your covered. I know its been discussed before, and im sure its not that simple. but its time. My 2 cents, thanks , Percy

I've pondered that but without membership provisions in the Activeboard software it would require hours and hours on my part keeping up with who was in current standing and who wasn't etc.

I notice a lot of guys here put parts and misc up for sale and offer the proceeds to the site. Ive even tried myself but noticed the ads get sunk to the bottom with all the others. And theres no real incentive to bump them. What if you made a separate section just for these. Not saying we shouldnt donate yearly as well. My opinion. Thanks.

That's not a bad idea John.

And I'm glad you mentioned that about the CP fundraising ads. If Todd doesn't make a separate section and I can try to keep an eye out for them and bump them up.

Hi guys,I'm glad to be a part of this incredibly valuable resourse. I've just made a donation of 50 bucks. We should all treat this thread like a fund raising drive just like PBS does! We could make the yearly costs by the end of this month !biggrin IMO   Cheers
