Surprised siting at Desert airport last night by someone who should recognize one!

I was completely shocked last night at the Palm Springs airport. Im working this gig with  Indian Wells tennis picking up players and officials at the airport and hotels for the BNP Parabas tournament going on.  I was at the airport and in the dim light a loud convertible idled through. Thought to myself man that looks like my car but couldnt be down here. Sure enough a guy out of central Alberta has his 64 Beaumont down here. Says he puts lots of miles on it and has been in all but 6 states not including Hawaii and Alaska. Didnt have time to find out what his exact power train was but with the nitrous he was producing 600 horse. No slouch and I guess with the 5 speed could still be affordable to drive. Had to say it made my evening while waiting for my passenger.

Just noticed this sort of ties in with the old car blog just posted on today. I dont think there were more than a thousand convertibles made in 64 so who knows how many are still rolling.

My wife is a big tennis fan - have you driven anyone famous so far?

Audi also is a sponsor. Letting the veteran drivers take them.
