Our convertible stays but the Chevy goes!!!

So it has been a roller coaster of what to do in our house over the last three weeks. With the stable full buying another old car seemed like the last thing a normal person would do. Well when the chance come up to fulfill a life long childhood dream and a regrettable broken promise, one has to think.  With only one possible opportunity to make it possible, what do you do? 

 

We we decided to to go For it and do what had to be done.  We have the engine out of the impala and figured the convertible was the next practical decision as too much work went into the wagon. As it turns out all our friends are stepping up and going like mad to get the impala back together with us so we can list.  

 

Why all this??? I located and successfully bought back a lost car from the family... after having it for 20 years and having to sell to pay the bills, we found it and it is coming home.

Finally after lots of patiences and two trucking companies its on its way home now...

The first company contracted to pick it up arrived with a regulars 53 trailer and planned to use a tow truck to Laos.  Not what I had asked for. So we had to scramble re-book and get the right carrier. Mackies was booked and could not gaurentee for 6 weeks or so.  We decided on TFX and now it on it was home.  We have not seen the car in 17 years. It will be an emotional arrival but since it left the car has only travelled 3200 miles making this car just shy of 19,000 original miles still. We cant hardly wait! And we are Excited that we figured out a way to make it make sense to keep the convertible too.

Thanks - We are to excited and emotional about its return. It was a real cream-puff back in '82 when our family purchased it the first time with less than 3300 original miles. the car is a factory air 327 300HP automatic. had the flags on the fenders when we sold it.
