 Only a SIX cylinder........... but what a SIX cylinder. The 261 can give some small blocks a run for the money. Cheers.biggrin

I spent the barrel of money doing the conversion. Now I can't afford to drive it.

You could make it a bit lighter by dropping a 409 4 speed in it but I too like it the way it is.

Absolutely nothing wrong with a 261 - they are a very torquey engine that should be more than adequate to keep up with today's traffic.

Besides, how many guys actually use a big block in the way it was intended in a 50+ year old car with single chamber master cylinder, drum brakes, mushy suspension, etc.  We're not 20 years old and "invincible" anymore.  They do look great with the hood raised at a car show, though... biggrin

A 261 ( or a small block ) will get you from A to B safely at posted speed limits ( or slightly above )
