So that may well be the only small block Cheetah?

In 66-67 they were all big blocks weren't they?

Possibly a 396 325hp in G/SA.....here's a pic of a buddy's 69 Camaro SS/GA at Sanair running a 396 325hp

Car was a Z/28 but Rick put a big block in it.

This was the only 69 Cheetah, and it was a 350 car. In 69, Conroy was selling GTO's, and interest in the Beaumont was tailing off.

So would it be the only Cheetah post car ever also?

Judging by the wrinkle in the slick it must have had some guts!

That's certainly not just a 350/300 horse then!

 Certainly not 'stock' Carl.

But with a good cam/headers/heads/gears/slicks 12.95 is easily achievable, that would be a nice ride.

In 1977 I ran 12.80's with a fresh 327 365hp in a 55 Chev 4 speed with 4:88 gears and Mickey Thompson 7" slicks,

car ran in C/MP.

Certainly headers and more cam would do it, yes, especially with that kind of gearing.

probably the 255 horse version, underrated and popular in NHRA class racing

I assume the 300 horse would have been offered in a Beaumont? I guess I've never checked. That with a 4 speed and a 3.55 or 3.73 gear would have made a fun car.

The 300 HP 350 was offered in the Beaumont in 69. I parted two of them a few years ago, one was a 4 speed. This 69 Cheetah was not a big block car. I'm sure there were lots of changes made to the stock 69 Deluxe.

I think a 350 Beaumont is a very neat and likely rare car, especially in the two door sedan version. Lets face it the most common V8 found in a Beaumont was the 307 and we all know how most members on here feel about that engine. A 350 69 Beaumont will always make me stop and take a good look.

What, that it was a solid reliable variation of the small block that got people to where they needed to go and paid the bills for GM, so they could afford to sell low-production big block cars?

Yeah.

A 307 is basically a 283 with a 327 crankshaft, but large journals. I think the biggest problem was that most I have seen had 2:73 years in the back. I think the reasoning was the longer stroke could handle the gearing. Back in the day adding a four barrel carb and duals with a change in gear ratio helped a lot. Stock they were a slug but seemed to last.

Apparently that was the only 69 cheetah and the only SBC. On the other topic, my cousin had a 69 SD 396 post car, black on black. It was a late 70s show car.

Mark, once  again you hit it on the mark. With out all those countless sixes and entry level V-8's................ these big block guys would just be dreaming of what they got. Just  dreaming. biggrin. After all the bread and butter stuff paid ALL THE BILLS. Cheers.

That is my understanding also , that that 69 Conroy car is likely the only small block 350 car built! Pretty cool car!
