Interesting. I didn't think the 300 horse went past 65 so in my mind there was never a 300 horse with a Quadrajet. I thought in 66 they were all 275 horse if they had a Quadrajet. But I don't know Corvettes either, so maybe they had it?

From memory small block Corvettes generally had up to 25bhp SAE gross rating more than other Chevrolet car lines due to the exhaust manifolds being far less restrictive. For example the L79 325hp 327 in a Chevelle etc was rated at 350hp in a Corvette. From memory the L30 (327 275hp) from 1966-1968 Camaro, Chevelle, Nova etc was rated at 300hp in a Corvette. Even the 1970 LT1 was 10hpmore in a Corvette than in a Camaro.

I thought it was the Q-jet vs the Holley that gave it the 25hp less

L79 would have holley 202 heads and the 151 l79 cam in 65 making 50 more hp
