67 Laurentian 4 dr on kijiji Kapuskasing, ON

some work required but for an Ontario car it would be considered quite solid assuming the frame is ok

in my home town

Looks decent enough in the photos - could be a good entry-level car for somebody who wants to get into the hobby at a low price-point, as long as it is driveable and doesn't have the typical frame rot.

It looks like it will need some work on the quarters, the trunk looks to be leaking (by the look at the trunk pan surface rust and paint touch-up) at the back window so it may or may not need trunk pan work.  Also, the snow tires on it means that it has seen road salt, so a good look-over would be required IMHO.

Ted I was interested in your comments re Kapuskasing being your home town!  Coincidently I submitted some pix of my latest toy that spent 51 years in that location!  You can view them under the heading 1962 Lincoln post!  By any chance did you know the original owner of the 65 Mercury?  His name was Philippe Caron and I believe he was on the town Council at one time!  Car was purchased at a dealer named Uptown Motors did you know of them?  Thanks from Bob.

Hi Bob
I responded to your PM.
Yes, I know of the car and the dealer Uptown Motors ( full line Lincoln, Mercury, Ford )
Knew Phil Caron at Phil's B/A but not well. He had a number of nice original oldies.
That is one nice Mercury and a true low mileage survivor. I know you will treat it with respect and it will serve you well.
Ted

On this 67 there is too much body work for the money asking and the motor is wrong, looks like a 305. I am not saying that there is no hope for this 67, there is but.......

The bodywork is hard to discern from the photographs, but I did notice the blue paint on the block and the later model breather (shaped to hook up to a hose), so yeah, it could be anything, probably some later model 305.

The snow tires are a little concerning as it could be a rust bucket if it were consistently driven through the winters.  I'm thinking, though, that Kapuskasing is a little drier than most parts of Ontario, as its further away from large bodies of water, and tends to have a colder climate, so I'm thinking it would be more like Manitoba than southern Ontario... maybe I'm wrong?

It looks like it would be worth a look if somebody wanted a lower priced driver/project, but agreed that it could go either way.  Will probably end up as a parts car someday.

The car made it's way down and the price made it's way up.
