My favorite 80's Firebird model (next to the turbo V6 pace car) and it has the 5.7.

It looks like the rear spoiler backed into something.

I'm with you, I really like those and I like the Tuned Port engines too.

As much as I like this example it's the super rare notch roof that appeals to me:

I will be surprised if he gets his money though.

Ray, wasn't the notch roof an aftermarket deck lid?

I don't see any damage to the rear spoiler.

I'm thinking it's just a reflection on the rear spoiler.

No, The GTA Notchback edition was a one year-only production option that was only available on the 1988 Pontiac Firebird Trans AM GTA. A total of 718 GTA Notchbacks were produced in 1988.

IIRC, it was a fibreglass piece that replaced the hatch glass, changed the back end 'bubble' look to a notchback look.  I recall reading about it when they were new... correct me if I'm mistaken.

There is quite a following on these notchbacks. Three major changes to regular production, obviously the rear hatch, spoiler was a flat style vs. aero and rear seat was actually changed out to a different style to blend in with the sedan type style.

While only available in the USA for 1988 there is a lot of evidence, ie) GM Canada documentation showing several sold in Canada for 1989 as well.
