I've decided to sell this carb that came along with my car. It's a Carter AFB 4bbl # 3721SB, date coded C5. Near as I can tell this is a service replacement carb for a 327 300hp app. Dating Mrach 1965. I believe the carb has been kitted as evidenced by screw heads/cleanliness gaskets etc. The aluminum tag #'s correspond with the base and also the top plate although the tag is now in two pieces...I did that... accidentally. If you're interested PM me and I'll arrange photos. Make me an offer.
OK I'd like to add to this. I've removed my intake because I am installing exhaust block off gaskets due to a problematic heat soak/vapor lock condition.I rechecked the numbers on the manifold...3844459 indicating an AFB GM cast iron 327 4bbl application. Date code is as follows A 7 5 indicating Jan 7th 1965. This leads me to believe that this manifold and the aforementioned carb are a matching 1965 pair....Corvette is indicated. So having said that, now that I have the manifold on the bench, I will offer both it and the carb as a pair for sale or.....trade for a nice correct 1963 2bbl 283 intake, carb and breather set up...or trade + cash for a suitable intake for my 1406 Edelbrock....If a nice original 2bbl set up comes along I will then sell this brand new 1406 and even newer aluminum breather in black.
Sorry to offend! I think this carb is worth 400 canadian...the manifold 3844459 outfitted with thermo housing, dist tie down, fresh paint etc date code on this one is sept 14th 1966. 250 So 650.00 Canadian for both pieces including two correct used gaskets in exellent shape and the correct spacer.Pics can be made available upon request.
