Yes,you should be able to measure the resistance of the float as it moves up and down(ohms). If you can't there are a few shops that can do that for you.Short of rebuilding it you can replace it inexpensively.Did you have problems with it or just needing/wanting to replace the tank itself. Not sure about up there but tanks down South here are relatively inexpensive. What do they want for one? Mark G
I cant get at the floats they are in the canister, just want to make sure it works hasn'had gas in the tank since 87 they were going to order me one tank from south but they wanted 525 ..I think I will check around for a good used one if possible

Let me check at work tomorrow if Spectra Premium offers one. I can't find it online. I know they make it for 65-66 and they are perfect. And affordable.

You can check the original sending unit with an ohm meter. If I recall, it changes from about 90 ohms to zero ohms (one is full, one is empty - I don't remember which is which). Just hold it right side up and check resistance, then turn it up side down and check resistance again. If the float isn't stuck you should hear it move.
The replacement is readily available, but will have the swing-arm design you're likely more familiar with.
This is going back 10 years ago but when I had my 69 Laurentian the sending unit was still available at GM. Now it didn't have the "can" but it fit and worked fine.
Yes Cliff thats the funny looking thing, Carl the place I went to say if they dont have or can't find it can't be bought...so I know they checked around forsure..gotta be a used one I quess..learning I will find one just relax and wait..soon as I find one there will be 3 others forsale haha Thank you guys for all the help !!
Spectra Premium sending unit, part # FG105A. We have one on the shelf at our Calgary warehouse, but readily available. Has 3/8" line. Same unit for 1967 - 1970.

Spectra headquarters are in Quebec. Lots of auto parts stores sell their tanks though.
This really is a head scratcher.
We know the trunk floor on a 69 Parisienne and a 69 Impala is the same, right?
We know the frame on a 69 Parisienne and a 69 Impala is the same, right?
The tank fits in and around those 2 items. The only other thing it could be is the filler neck, right?
GM says the following:
68, 69, 70 Impala tank is 3961918. Old numbers for it are 3930951 and 3947521.
68, 69, 70 Parisienne tank is 3961918. Old number for it is 3947521.
If Spectra makes a tank for a 69 Impala as per what 2drpost says, why do they say they don't have one for Parisienne? Way back in the 1970 GM parts catalogue, GM says it's the same tank.

I'd say go with the Spectra GM53B as Carl has provided a link to. It's used in 1969 & 70 Chev B-body. It looks the same as what's in my 1970 Cdn Pontiac's, but I have a bracket across the filler neck that bolts to the trunk pan.
Just an FYI - if you walked into one of the Auto Value stores in Calgary, here's the pricing on the website:
Fuel Tank: GM53B $694.37
Sending Unit: FG105A $113.49
