1966 Parisienne Custom Sport Convertible

What was the deal with Custom Sport for 1966?  Was it an option on Parisienne, or its own series?  When did it go away?

1966 Pontiac Parisienne Custom sport convertible

Description

Nice pontiac custom sport convertible with lots of potential. Not very common model with bucket seats and console together with the convertible top. Engine is a 283 cubic inch with 2 speed powerglide transmission. Car needs top to be replaced and could use a paint job as well as some interior work. Has had recent work done to make this car very drive-able the way it is . Brakes done all around including wheel cylinders. Rebuilt convertible top pump as well as new top switch . Small rust in floor was repaired and new insulation and carpet was installed. New gauges in console. New back-up lights. One muffler and tail pipe replaced on dual exhaust . Upper control arm bushing and ball joints have been replaced. Glass is excellent all around. To this point everything on this car works (except radio ) Asking $7300 OBO email or text 403-382-0920

1966 was the last year of the Parisienne Custom Sport. It was replaced by the Parisienne 2+2 in 1967.

Thanks!  I was curious as this seemed to have a mix of Parisienne and Custom Sport emblems, but not the standard Parisienne emblems on the fenders.  It also doesn't have the 'slash' trim pieces on the bottom of the fenders.

I just looked up the brochure and it makes reference to a Sports Option with Custom Sport badging, so I guess it was just an option package by '66, and dropped after the year (or during the year?) to be replaced by 2+2 for '67...
