Is anyone here familiar with the big annual car show that took place at molson park and Markham or both? I used to go as a kid but dont recall any specifics where what and when etc.? I found a photo of these old trophies but I think they are gone and would love to know what may have been on them as well as other show specifics
What became the Barrie Automotive Flea Market started out at Molson Park in Barrie.
I have some older pictures ( yes, actual photos ) of some of the cars from some of the years.
I only remember the swap mrrt at Molson Park.
Apparently, the swap meet is moving to North Bay now. Might be at that drag strip that was built a few years ago and changed hands a couple of times, not sure

I first went to the Barrie swap meet at Molson park area in 1979, back when it was actually a good swap meet. I went to the Molson park car show back 1988-1990. Both events ended because Molson had enough and they were demanding that the organizers had insurance for the events. I would be very surprised if the meet moved to North Bay because that would signal the end for sure of that mostly useless meet. No one would go that far for such a mediocre meet, especially in the southern Ontario region. Now that Don Haney is dead who knows what will happen to it. Not sure who bought the rights from the Haney family. I gave up on the meet many years ago because it really is a very sad meet to go and not worth all the walking. Cheers.
