Found the VIN on the data plate attached to the right hand side of the cowl ( firewall )

Might there be other places where the VIN number is found?

I dont think so. There may have been grease pencil markings to identify major parts on the assembly line, but I dont think that hidden vin numbers started until the 60s.

Car has been repainted except for the firewall which still has grease pencil markings.
