AXAD0158.JPGI have recently picked this Canadian Pontiac up and she needs work, but I can not find much information about her, like what it is and where is best place to get parts. Any information is appropriate

Welcome from Canada's east coast!

I wonder how your left hand drive Canadian Pontiac made it over to England?

I did find a tag from Nevada in the car when I was looking for information and any paper work, dated 2010, so it must have spent a lot of time in dry.

The body is very solid and I am hoping to make her better and enjoy her in the summer.

How do I decode the 22-27 model to find out exactly what she is.

Hello
Nice Car !, we have a 2 door 1950 Pontiac as well .
I have a 1950 Sales Brochure, that shows your car only it has the round rear tail lights, but it states the car design as being a business coupe. From the info you posted , your car is a series 22 you could try and pick up a shop manual.I have attached photos of both .

Regards
Dale

model 22-27 = Fleetleader Special 2 door coupe
serial 0222710971 = numbers started at 0222700001 and went up ( note that first letter 0 = 1950, next 4 numbers are the model and then a consecutive production number
engine W117220 = engine numbers started at W10001 and went up. Engine number is for all series.
trim 431= ?
paint 51 = Brunswick Blue
Price = $1902
Weight = 3140 pounds

What a find.
We need to hear more about it, it's history and your intentions for it.

WOW that is great information on the model number.
so she is a Fleetleader Special, may be know I can find more information and parts for her.

History of the car is unknown, all I know is that it was registered in UK April 2018 and it must have come from the USA as I found some receipt for parts from Nevada in 2010.

Car is very solid and only surface rust which cleans easily, looks to have everything in place, oh I am missing the spare wheel!

Only problem I can see with her was the rear brake cylinder leaking, so have managed to find one, the brakes on this Poncho are the HUCK brake as picture.

Got new cylinder from Rockauto same as Chevrolet truck 3100.

Thank you guys for your help and I need a lot of it, to put her back ans enjoy driving her.

Ali as Dale says your car is more likely to be a Canadian Business Coupe as it doesn't have the stainless strip around the front and rear windscreens, also there is no strip along the front guard and door. It is missing the stone guards that are found on the front of the rear guards. These were made of hard rubber for this model and were prone to cracking over the years. The Fleetleader would have had stainless stone guards. Your tail lights and number plate lights are the same as 50 Chev. I have a photo of a Chev Business Coupe, will track it down and post it. Gayne.

 Thanks Gayne for the information and yes it would be good to know as much as possible on this car.

These two coupes came into the country in the 50s. The black one came in from India and was owned by an Airforce chappy hence all the different gauges including an altimeter. It is the base model Business Coupe. The green one is the deluxe model and quite frankly is just confused as to it's parentage.
