Wanted: 1966 Pontiac full size 2 door (Parisienne, GP, Bonneville, Catalina, Star Chief)

Hey guys,

I am Still in search of a 66 Pontiac. Must be 2 door and not a convertible.

Either Canadian or US models at this point.... and I Dont mind if its a 66 Bonneville either. I actually really like the Bonnevilles as well.

looking either for a project or decent runner but not 20-30gs.

had a potential seller contact me but, I guess he backed out...

Thanks,

Mike

There is one listed in Old Autos right now. A 66 Bonneville.

I've seen the car personally and it is beautiful. Asking 21,500, but it's been sale for a couple of years.

Maybe he's negotiable. Worth a phone call anyway.

Here's a GP, but it doesn't have a price listed... maybe you already contacted them?

Contacted him about an hour ago. The price is decent, close to the Bonneville price if I factor in shipping costs and can negotiate a lower price on that Bonneville.

I'll keep an eye out for you.  If I see anything I'll let you know.

Perhaps some of our other kijiji watchdogs can do similarly.  With all the eyes of CP looking, we will find something eventually I'm sure!

Silly question. If I buy the car outside of Ontario? When I put the title in my name am I still paying taxes?

There is a 66 sitting at a dealer near Hanover. Ont....south of Owen Sound. I am not sure of the price, but you could call him. It's in this picture from their lot ad on Facebook.

I think it only gets taxed according to the province it will be registered in.

Yes, it doesnt matter where you buy the car you will pay sales tax in Ontario. Also Ontario requires an appraisal on antique cars for tax valuation. My brother has gotten around it when he imported cars from the U.S. as he had to pay federal tax at the border. When registering the car in Ontario the license bureau in his area accepted the federal tax value the same as an appraisal

Theres a teal 1966 Grand Parisienne in Welland every time I go see my parents. The car has been sitting outside in winter and hasnt even moved since. Its in really good shape too. And so far I have not seen it appear at the Welland cruise nights? Anyone know this car? Would it be rude, to leave a note on the windshield asking if hes selling, to contact me? Its infront of a business, not residential area, I think...

Rude? Don't think so.......I got a couple of my cars doing exactly that.

It does the seller a favour by not having to go through the advertisng/dealing with potential buyers....go for it.

May I ask why so set on the 66? I think the 65 is a far cleaner design. And then in 67 they took it a step further with many refinements.

 wink

Thanks. Ill give them a call today.
I like the lines of the 65 too dont get me wrong but I always loved the look of the 66 better (especially with the Parisienne/Catalina/Bonneville grille opposed to the GP grilles.

Isn't the job of a moderator to prevent a thread from derailing ?

Not derailing it them selves ?

I would be snapping this one for $12,000
