Need advise: '67 rear bumper guards

Hi fellas,

I recently purchased a factory GM set of bumper guards for the 67 Beaumont. I have the correct brackets/hardware etc. ...but I don't understand how to install the rear guards? Do I need to drill provisional holes thru the bumper?

I'm trying to get everything wrapped up & ready for the big Penticton show this coming weekend. Any advise... install schematics would be hugely appreciated. Thanks,

Kyle.

Hopefully Fake68 will see this because he will know, he has guards on his 67 Chevelle.

Front guards hook over the edge of the bumper but the rears have holes drilled in the bumper bar face. My 1967 SD convertible has factory installed guards and the bumper has holes drilled in it for the rear brackets. I have a copy of the install sheet for the rear guards that I will attach My 1967 SS-396 also has F&R guards and I have attached a picture showing the rear bracket.Cheers! Steve.

Mine have a clamp that wraps around the top edge... no holes. Interesting, two styles

For what its worth, my 1964 guards have the clamp on the top and the hole under the bottom,  no drilling required.

Thanks to all for clarifying... the bumper gaurds that 'sman' described is also what I have. That install diagram is excellent.

Looks like i need to drill holes in my rear bumper for the bracket to mount into...noticed on the instruction paper that was pasted by "sman", there is a refrence to Fig. 1 as to where the hole is...possible to get a picture posted of that Figure? Hoping it gives some measurements as to where to drill!!
