Hopefully the weather holds out.  They are calling for showers today and I can hear the wind blowing pretty strongly outside.

Ironically, I was there last Sunday showing it to some out of town visitors, and wondered if they still held car shows there.  I've been out of touch with the car show scene for a while.  Too much other stuff that needs my time.

Enjoy!

Hope it was a good show. I wanted to go but have too much on the go. Those grassy slopes at Graves Island can get pretty slippery with all the rain we have had.

I posted a reply earlier, it disappeared or I forgot to hit post.

I went, it didn't rain, but looked like it would. Low turnout, likely due to weather, it was drizzling in Hfx and elsewhere which likely kept many from showing up with cars or as spectators. I was the only x frame Pontiac there and only 409. Lots like to see the 63 and have stories of one in their life in the past, some like the "Bonneville", some wonder why it has a Chevy motor in it.

Ashmore, you are right on the slick grass hills, I had to sneak up one sideways, I have no posi and my cheater pie crust are not much good on dirt.

I left early and didn't take any pics. One cool car is a 63 Plymouth 4 door plain jane model, drag car. Old black paint, some falling off, 440 stroked to 500, 10.80 in the quarter. I've seen it there a few times, he runs it a lot at Greenfield.

63 started leaking coolant from the heater core onto the floor mats, would it be worth trying Barrs Stop Leak until I get it fixed? I've never tried it.

I have a spare core I'll get pressure tested and then fixed if needed.

re route your heater hoses back to the water pump. Or just a short hose to go from input to output at the pump.
Disconnected then no more leak..... so you can get it fixed at your leisure and still drive.
Need to get in all the summer miles we can.

Wear a sweater! Fan will still work if your windows fog up.

 What I did.

Changing out a heater core is not a fun/quick job.

Do you have to remove the cover inside the engine compartment? Or those bolts/nuts up there in the corner under the hood hinge.............
Thanks,
Don

I did a search on Bar's and other stop leak products, my best guess is it may get you home in a pinch but not a safe way to go for any length of time.

Keep in mind that Bars stuff travels through your rad as well. Best to avoid plugging up the wrong part.

A heater core is a nice thing to have in the summer if you start to have cooling issues on a hot day.  Turning up the heat can give you just that little bit extra cooling if the temp gauge starts climbing in traffic.  Mind you, it's not all that pleasant to be inside the car at that time, so you have to balance engine cooling with passing out... biggrin

This is what GM offers, I use it in the Cadillacs every coolant change.
