Is This Still Okay To Drink?

I bought a sealed vintage can of GM Posi Axle Lubricant.

Given it's age, would it still be okay to use in a rear end or is full can just a wall hanger?

I dont think I would trust the contents. I opened an old can of oil additive that had sat unopened for many years and when pouring it out it the additives had separated out and settled in the bottom and looked like grey mud.

Id keep it as a wall hanger! Most of todays lubricants already have the additive but you can buy these anytime you want.

How bout this? Found it tucked up under the dash on top of the glove box in this 58.58 mickey 001.JPG The liquor stores here used to wrap bottles like that in the sixties. It's half full.

I bet it's fine. That one should be the actual "whale oil" or whatever that mystery ingredient was they used in that stuff way-back-when it worked perfectly, unlike today's posi oils. (I remember hearing it was whale oil.)

Probably still ok, just aged more. If it still looks ok I would try it.

I think I'd rather drink the posi fluid rather than the 5-Star!

I remember drinking half a 26er of 5-Star (remember the plastic stars on the bottle that you could remove) with a friend on July 1st. when I was 16. There is a strange story behind it, which I won't get into.
