Our cottage is in Gimli - the local car club brings their cars to the harbour area on Wednesday nights
This 66 showed up last night - the Finance Manager at the local GM dealer owns it - he tends to buy and sell vintage cars as a side line - he owns the black caprice beside the 66
There is a story of the car on the Gimli Car club facebook site - I don't do facebook so i will leave it to those who are interested to access it themselves
By chance is the black one beside it an SS427 Impala? If so, I think I know that car. It's loaded, and I mean loaded with options.
I'll have to see if there's details on that 66---looks great.
Hey Carl - yes it is an SS 427 - there was a matching Caprice with same color combination that was also in Gimli - I haven't seen it this year so maybe it has been sold
The SS427 Impala Custom in the last picture looks just like the car that belongs (belonged?) to Rick Nelson in Illinois. He found it in the 1980s with 8,000 original miles on it. Factory 8-track, remote mirror, front fender lights, light monitoring system & sport wheel. It had been customized with solid red tail light lenses & separate Mustang reverse lights down on the lower pan. It had headers, aftermarket air cleaner & valve covers. It had 15x8 Rally Wheels with '67 flat caps. Original Tuxedo Black paint, vinyl top & interior.
That '66 Parisienne appears to have a power rear antenna. Also rear fender skirts that integrate nicely and are not an embarrassment. I'm guessing it is a 283 'glide combo, like most that one ever sees. A repaint in a light or bright colour would do that car wonders.
