Car events coming up ?

I always seem to find out about local events after they happen confuse

For anyone in Southern Ontario, this event will be open to the public on Thursday August 15th at 6pm

We have members who are part of this group.

I plan to attend Thursday night, this year.

George, if you come down, I'll let you take all the pictures biggrin

NORMOSKA 2019

hosted by HERITAGE 35 GROUP

AUGUST 10 THRU AUGUST 17

REGISTRATION FORM

Saturday & Sunday are days to get settled in and familiarized with your home for the next week. On Sunday evening we'll welcome everyone with supper and some unusual entertainment! Then it's off and touring for the week. Coffee and a daily driver's meeting will start each day. We are NOT repeating anything we have already seen in previous Normoska events held here in Dorchester, everything is new and different!

During the week plans call for us to visit several private collections including one with vintage drag cars and one with motorcycles, petroliana, and barbershop stuff. We'll also see an old tyme general store, antique shops, some great picnic sites, a fantastic garden railway, a music box collection, possibly some quilt stores for the ladies, a ranch complete with cannons, a beach, the patio at a local garden centre, enjoy some scrumptious ice cream, shop at various eclectic shops and do much much more.

Thursday we'll host a cruise night right at camp, and Friday evening will feature a simple 'farewell' supper where everyone can get in those last conversations and hug goodbye. Short & to the point, here are your instructions! Registrations forms are in this issue. Get a copy made, fill it out AND THEN CHECK IT! Mail the form to the correct address in time to arrive on or before July 8. Please be sure your cheque is made out to HASC HERITAGE 35.

You are coming to the North Dorchester Agricultural Society Fairgrounds 4939 Hamilton Road, Dorchester (some GPS units prefer Thames Centre) N0L 1G0 Please note: The Elgin Road/#73 exit from Highway 401 is closed. You will need to exit at Dorchester Road which will bring you into Dorchester past the Shoppers Drugmart, Tim Hortons area to the stoplight on Hamilton Road west of the fairgrounds (turn right at the lights).

Please do not arrive before noon on Friday August 9 and plan to vacate the grounds not later than Saturday August 17 at 4:00 p.m. As before, we have adequate electricity and water for the campsites, but dont expect to run your air conditioners too! Bring some extra extension cords & lengths of hose. If you wish to park next to a specific person, stick a note on your registration to that effect.

Other accommodations in the area include the Best Western Airport at Dundas & Veterans Memorial Parkway in the east end of London, a Comfort Inn in Ingersoll right at the 401 or the many, many hotel/ motel choices to be found at the Wellington Road & 401 intersection in south London. All are within decent driving distance to the campground.

Please remember to pack your HASC lanyards if you still have them, and mugs for morning coffee.

Bring your dancing shoes for our Wednesday night party! This will be banquet night and we have a really good DJ so we can rock the night away with no need to arise early in the morning for a long tour or pack to go home!

The vehicle you plan to drive should have a 2019 HASC Inspection sticker affixed to it before you arrive at Normoska. Also, keep in mind that we are trying to make our daily tours early car friendly so plan to bring your oldest vehicle if you feel comfortable doing so. Whatever you care to drive though, we will have a successful Normoska with all new routes and sites to visit. We have made a conscious effort not to revisit anything weve seen previously and to find some interesting roads to travel.

Randy, i appreciate the vote of confidence on the picture taking but car shows during the week are too brutal for me. After work during the week, car shows are the last thing on my mind. Cheers.

Only real bad weather will stop me from being at Bothwell this year. Many photos to come from that sweet event.
