GM St. Catharines is revving up for the 21st annual Show n' Shine Car Show Friday at McKinnon Park at the Glendale plant.

The Show n' Shine began as a passion project organized by GM employees and in its first year featured 16 Corvettes and a handful of enthusiasts.

Today the show has expanded to the community at large and showcases any vehicle powered by a GM engine.

On average, there are 350 vehicles and twice as many spectators from across Ontario and New York state.

Last year's event had more than 500 participants. This year's show already has more than 280 vehicles registered including a 1937 Chevrolet pickup truck, a 1976 GMC motorhome and a 2020 Cadillac XT6.

The car show runs 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. and features awards in 26 categories including best of show.

There is a $5 fee to register a vehicle.

The event is free for spectators and runs rain or shine at 570 Glendale Ave.

It is a great show-nice venue-too bad no factory tours-I have gone on them in the past and man are they cool-we just walked on our own googling over all the engine parts and finished engines.I will be co pilot in my buddys 35 Chevy-rumour has it there may be the 2020 New C8 vette there-

 Just a guess but GM workers would need to be paid over time wages for weekends. The other thing is for the longest time they ran plant tours and would have to be done week days. Only a guess. Kindsmen show is in Niagara on the lake this Sunday George, this is just as good maybe even better than the GM show. I hope you can come out to this one.

First set of pictures beside the white Pontiac is the all steel original body 35 Chevy i drove down in-car is mint-built in Saskatchewan sold in Calgary then some guy in Utah bought it and built it-has a crate 350 in it with ac-my buddy who owns it now drives it everywhere -great pictures thanks!
