Hi Poncho lovers!!


Hi everyone. New to the site.

Soonly I will be acquiring the neighbours garage stored 65' Parisienne Wagon. Its Red in colour hence my moniker. I have one pic of vin. More to come once he gets her out of the garage storage cocoon. Ha HA.

I have attempted to research specs, options and Vin with little luck. I see many people just post there vins etc but where are you guys getting your info? I will probably be posting lots of question. Help would be appreciated.

I was told it is a 1965. I will get cowl code soon. Here is the pillar code. These number don't seem to line up with what am researching. Could someone decode please?

Look like you have a 1963 Parisienne 2-seat wagon there. Post pics when you get it out of storage.

78 series designation  ( Parisienne V8 )  77 would indicate 6 cyl. Parisienne

35 body style   (wagon)  

64162  Production number from the factory

Thats fantastic! Thanks!  Is there a vin decoder online? Or do you have a manual? If so could you provide a link? Cannot find info for Canadian models. Is there a visual ID available? Like what a 63 vs 67 tail looks like. ETC. Brochures different models and styles /options? Lot of American info little Canadian. Any help would be huge!

  Many of us on here has had experience with decoding serial numbers and trim tags. You should try and find a master parts catalogue like the one I have pictured below in your search.

I hate using my phone to do internet stuff. Everything is too small, always clicking on the wrong stuff. I don't know how some guys do it, honestly.

AND....We're back! Thank-you everyone for your welcomes and info! Ok. She is free from her tomb! And into her temporary one. Looks like a nine pass. Has the flip up for rear facing rear seat. Fuel tank is on side. Powered rear glass. I have no door keys. Cannot open gate. Any tricks to get it open? Any easy pick solutions so I get to lock cylinder and get it rekeyed? 

Will send interior pics soon.

Here is the cowl plate. Anyone care to decipher?.

My understanding is that the Canadian Pontiacs are Chevy Impalas in terms of running gears chassis etc. Can someone confirm or deny this? I will be needing a fuel tank. How do these differ from a 2-4 door? So I was going to start sourcing parts as a Impala. What else is mechanically different between cars and wagons?

Time warp! The plates match this reggie. That was last time on road. Garage parked since 05' ish!! Curious what GM called this colour(not color)!! Kinda Burgundy esk!

For a few bucks and a phone call to GM Vintage Vehicle services they'll send you a package that will tell you everything about your car- Date it was built, selling dealer, colour (in and out), powertrain, options and production numbers. We are blessed to have this service for all Canadian built and sold GM cars.

Just a suggestion for your key problem. I see on your profile you are in the Calgary area. When I was looking for an ignition key for another ignition I had I went to a local old school lock smith and he had a ring of around a hundred GM keys and he told me to find one and we will cut some for you. I went through about 20 or so and found one that worked perfectly. Also if you send away for your documentation to GM they sometimes send you your key code back if you still have the originals in your car. I remember as a kid having keys that fit different vehicles we owned. Suggest to take a lock out and take it in.
