Real Life Magazine Ad

We took the 2+2 to the Rockin August Show and Shine this past Saturday and ended up parking beside a nice 67 Firebird. The two side by side reminded me of a magazine ad I have. I took a picture of the two together to compare.  Too bad I didnt have the ad with me. Would have been cool to angle the cars like in the ad and of course close the hoods.

Hoods closed, uncluttered background, that would have made a perfect ad!

And the thing is when we first got there in the morning both hoods were down, both tops were down, and no one around. But never thought of it then. At the time I was thinking about the pancake breakfast.

Was the base engine in the 2+2 the 2 barrel? I just noticed that in the ad. I would have bet the 275 horse would have been the starting point. Interesting how they had a 2+2 package but never put power into them unless you ordered it. I parted out a 70 2+2 around 1980. 350 2 barrel, buckets, console, 12 bolt posi, disc brakes and rally wheels. Looked sharp but base engine.

I grabbed another  Canadian Pontiac ad from that era for Firebird and Grand Parisienne from another source. I always found this ad to be somewhat misleading. I think you could read it and infer that the because of the copy placement beside the Firebird that a 327 may be available.
