Ive only seen this setup once but different year. 65 Custom Sport with 283 and 3 on the tree.

At least 35 years ago I saw an Impala SS in a Minnesota wrecking yard with a 3 on the tree/overdrive. Same thing, console with no shifter opening. My mind is getting hazy now as to whether it was a 65 or a 66-67.
