Two months till retirement.

It's been quite a ride. Worked my butt off.  I never dreamed of retirement  at 60. I've sold out to my partner.  Its going to be very quiet and maby a bit lonely  . My health is very good  so far.  I have a year's worth of yard cleanup. Tons of scrap steel to haul in and sell. I'll have to buy myself a nice duramax. All the trucks go with the buisness .20180617_203429.jpg20180610_090236.jpg

I will have the shop to myself.  The business  will be moving out  .all the tools are mine.. so the biggest question is which car to start with?

My options are. 71 acadian  66 acadian  71 elcamino  70 nova 56chevy 2dr post  . The blue one is a nova with acadian clip.

Congrats on retirement. Looks like you should start on one of the 66, lots of spare parts.

Is the 'shop' the one with the door 1/3 open. Lots of room for storage for the keepers and then let loose on the other stuff Cliff

That's my shop.it started as 28x30  in 1988 and with 7 or 8 additions as funds permitted   grew to be about 60x60 .

Infloor heat  and 24x24 offices. Realistically I have 28x60 bay and a hoist bay12x24.the rest is full of machines  steel rack etc.

One of the first items of buissnez is a major cleaning  of everything  dirty and smokey then  repaint. I'll have more time to post the play by play.

Fun times.

Congratulations. Unless I have a huge bout of good fortune I can't see myself ever retiring.

I officially retired in March of this year (though I hadn't really worked since my daughter became seriously ill in March 2017; thankfully now recovered).

It took some adjustment as previously I was used to a fast and stressful job. But now I like the pace. Did a cross country road trip in June. Spent the summer building a square body  truck with my son. Planning some fall travel to a couple of big stateside flea markets in October and then I hope to have a leisurely winter working on one of my cars at a pace that works for me.

Cheviac has it right - now busier than ever, but doing what I want to. I do get bored sometimes but overall I'm enjoying it.

I hope you have a similar experience. Seems like you worked hard for the opportunity and you've got lots of projects to work on.

Congratulations and best of luck to you.

Congratulations Markus. I will admit I'm having a VERY hard time picturing you retired though!

If you end up traveling to Manitoba in search of car parts make sure you let me know if you're anywhere near Morris.

I retire in 2 DAYS.  Can't wait.

My daughters (who both have fixer-upper homes) are excited too. My wife, not so much.

Wish I had a big outbuilding to play in. Maybe someday ...

Regards, Scott (LandShark ...)

Congrats on the upcoming retirement Mark. You'll love it, but be prepared to have LESS time do do car stuff, and get ready to watch the time fly by before your eyes.

I've been retired a year now, and it sill doesn't feel real.
