It's been quite a ride. Worked my butt off. I never dreamed of retirement at 60. I've sold out to my partner. Its going to be very quiet and maby a bit lonely . My health is very good so far. I have a year's worth of yard cleanup. Tons of scrap steel to haul in and sell. I'll have to buy myself a nice duramax. All the trucks go with the buisness .
I will have the shop to myself. The business will be moving out .all the tools are mine.. so the biggest question is which car to start with?
My options are. 71 acadian 66 acadian 71 elcamino 70 nova 56chevy 2dr post . The blue one is a nova with acadian clip.
I officially retired in March of this year (though I hadn't really worked since my daughter became seriously ill in March 2017; thankfully now recovered).
It took some adjustment as previously I was used to a fast and stressful job. But now I like the pace. Did a cross country road trip in June. Spent the summer building a square body truck with my son. Planning some fall travel to a couple of big stateside flea markets in October and then I hope to have a leisurely winter working on one of my cars at a pace that works for me.
Cheviac has it right - now busier than ever, but doing what I want to. I do get bored sometimes but overall I'm enjoying it.
I hope you have a similar experience. Seems like you worked hard for the opportunity and you've got lots of projects to work on.

Congrats Markus ! Keep tinkering whatever you choose to do, it's all good , keep busy and active and stay healthy :) I will work part time starting February 2020 ie 12 days a month or less for the next five years plus pension till I'm 60 as well.
Congrats on the upcoming retirement Mark. You'll love it, but be prepared to have LESS time do do car stuff, and get ready to watch the time fly by before your eyes.
I've been retired a year now, and it sill doesn't feel real.
