How the heck could that happen?? Guy must have been smoking too much weed and forgot to use the tie downs
that were sitting on the seat beside hi.

That's why I bought those straps with the clips on the hooks. When you hear that "click" you know it can't fall off.

When Tom came from Edmonton to pick up the black 66 Grande Parisienne from me years back, he had those along. The secure feeling those things give is great (coming from a guy who had a car roll back off the trailer when I was turning the truck and trailer around...)

did he just roll it on the trailer, and think that was good enough?

Maybe he was hoping for an insurance claim?
