Is it still considered a Canadian Pontiac? By 1973 the Autopact was in place, and the Canadian Pontiac's were a thing of the past.

It may not show very well in the picture but this is a Laurentian.
I could be wrong but I don't think that series was sold in the US

It's a Laurentian. They share the Chevy Bel Air interior soft trim, including the unique extra-long coupe door panels in Bel Air trim (unique to Canada). Probably has a Chevy (excuse me, Pontiac Orange engine). I do see a 400 badge in the grille, so I would be curious. Other '73s I had seen in the past had the 400 Chevy but the v.i.n. would tell to story.

I hate the donk-ish wheels, but I have to admit the donk crowd has shown more love to these 1971-76 GM B-bodies than other folks in the hobby.

Honestly, I haven't seen a '73 Laurentian coupe around since that beautiful old Dark Red Metallic one in Highland Creek area about 20 years ago. It was driven by an elderly gentleman and had just been repainted the stock colour when I saw it.

Here's a link to another thread here on a Unicorn car, a '71 Laurentian coupe with a 6-cylinder & 3-in-the-tree: 1 of a kind.

You don't see these cars much anymore but I'm partial to the 73. I think Pontiac did a great job of accommodating the big front bumper in the existing body design and in my mind the 73 looks better in front than the 71 or 72.

Once when I was in Calgary I saw a 73 2 dr ht downtown near the Delta Hotel. I had to walk by it in the way to work. It was light green with a dark green vinyl top, completely stock, and I thought it was beautiful.

In 1987 I had a 75 Parisienne coupe with a 455 Pontiac engine. Great car to drive and surprisingly capable of a very high top speed, but the colonnade styling could not compete with the look of the 73 coupe depicted here.

Disagree!

I thought the 75 was a much better "flow" in the design!

I have to agree with John.  The coupe-style 2-door hardtop of '71 - '73 is vastly superior to the 'afterthought' collonade-esque styling of '74-up.  No comparison.

Of course that's just my opinion!  wink  They are all nice.

I don't know. I guess it's all a matter of personal preference and opinion. I liked my 75 Parisienne for its ride and performance (not its gas mileage) but while they have grown on me a little over the years I've never thought the big framed rear side window colonnade sedan look of the 74-76 big cars could beat the sleek look of the standard full sized Pontiac coupe from 71-73.  I think GM did a better job in the execution of the 73-77 colonnade mid sized cars like the LeMans, Grand Am, Cutlass, Monte Carlo, Chevelle, etc. which looked good then and still do today.
