A great visual animation of how a 4 speed functions.


Hello CP, 

Stumbled upon this very good and simple animation of how a basic 4 speed works. Except for the representation of how the shifter functions, it pretty much sums up the Muncie 4 speed.

Might be better with the sound off at first watch...

That was excellent. For my M20, one of these days I need to make a quick drawing showing which shift lever (and which shifter rod) in which position engages which gear.

Wow thats such a cool explanation, manual transmissions (actually autos too lol) always somewhat baffled me. Always wondered why 1 shift rod was for 2 gears!!

As an aside as someone that uses CAD in my career, it always amazed me that previous inventors and Engineers were able to conceptualize, design, draw and manufacture prior to the computer age!!
