That is a correct, you need to buy pans for a full size 61 Chevy. Don't order for a Pontiac because most suppliers will supply you with floor parts for a US model.

What about inner and outer rockers.? Is there any good literature on what parts are interchangeable for theses cars ?

61-64 floor pans, inner and outer rockers are Chevy , same for all body styles, 2 door, 4 door, wagon, you name it. The 4 door floor pans have an extra brace. You likely have rotten braces on the ends? You can buy those separately too.

I am doing a 1962 Parisienne and my experience has taught me 61 & 62 are off years and you can't buy any body parts for them, unlike the years before and after.  As 4speed427 mentioned the floor pans for an Impala appear to fit.  I purchased from the firewall to rear bumper in 3 sections that include all the braces from Classic Industries and plan to install this winter.  They measure up fine and we are not expecting any installation issues.  The front floor pan will have inner rockers attached but there is a great deal of infrastructure that between it and the outer rocker that you can't buy.  When I purchased my car I discovered the outer rocks appeared to have been replaced with Chevy but they are not right.  When I peeled the outers off I found a good portion of the original ones were still there.  I cut it off and had them made at a local machine shop.  I'm assuming your 61, like my 62, will also have a good amount of structure directly under the sill plate and between the inner and outer rocker.  In all my searching I was not able to find anyone with a listing for any of it, so I went back to the trusty machine shop and had it all made.  My car looked good until I started taking it apart and discovered the front corner structure was totally missing.  I bought a donor car for the frame but it turned into a gold mine of stuff.  The front corner stuff that wasn't visible on my car was there and was fairly intricate with a lot of parts and angles and pieces.  Most it was was only good to be used as a template but otherwise we would have been at a loss of what to do.

Read all this post on a 61 Chevy 2 door hardtop, lots of metalwork pics, see if you recognize the parts on your 61 Pontiac. I have some good pics from a 62 Chevy 4 door post car, it is likely like your 61, except for an extra floor brace, would you like to see them? Should be the same firewall too, be nice to confirm that?
