if we don't get into the nitty-gritty of drivetrains, my list would look something like this (in no particular order):
- 1970 Pontiac Firebird Formula (seriously), followed very closely by 1971-1973 Formulas, followed very closely by 1974 Formulas - 1967/1968 Pontiac Firebird 400 - 1970 Pontiac GTO, followed very closely by a Tempest - 1980 Chevrolet Monte Carlo (has body lines shared with 78-79, but I prefer the quad headlamps like latter cars) - 1989-1991 Pontiac Grand Am (coupe), followed very closely by 1985-1988 Grand Am coupes - 1993-1997 Pontiac Firebird Firehawk, followed very closely by 1996-1997 Formula 'WS6' cars - pre-1960 VW 'Type 1' (aka: Beetle or Bug); the older the cooler to me - Porsche 356; the older the cooler to me - Lamborghini Miura - A late model Dodge Challenger R/T or SRT
And I'd kinda like to own an old two door, manual transmission Chevette... think of it along the same vein as the VW or Porsche, I know they are not fast...
I'd also love to have a wagon, or wagon-esque Pontiac of some sort, but I don't know enough about them to know which years/models, nothing too big (so no 1973-1977's, even though they could have cool fold up third row seating, or cool "disappearing" rear door); I've really liked reading of late in 'Smoke Signals' about the 55-57 Pontiac Safari (think Chevrolet Nomad)... Actually I have appreciated more exposure to earlier Pontiac's through 'Smoke Signals'...
I think I like cars a bit too much.
Whoops! I just noticed the "let's keep it before the 1980's" bit... At the risk of scorn, I'll just leave my four infractions there, otherwise my list might seem too miniscule! lol
