I'd swear it looks like buckets and a column shift without a console, a legitimate if not strange combo. The standard engine in the Cutlass Supreme series was the 320-horse 330 high-compression V8.  You never know, one could have ordered a Turnpike Cruiser 400 2-barrel with a TH400 trans & 2.41 axle ratio as a factory option on any 2-door Cutlass or F85 that year.
