Both of these cars are uncommon in a 1974. the 4 Speed is about as close to a 74 A body GTO as you could get, remembering that 73 was the last year of GTO on the A body. The 74 GT although a 350 car would have a good deal of GTO type goodies as well, duals and suspension parts  for example were part of GT Package.

Both neat cars, and I like 'em, but unfortunately I think these cars will always be limited due to the lack of support from the aftermarket, and overall lack of popularity of the Collonade cars.  It would have to be a labour of love (as it should be), because you will never get your money back out of either of these if you restored them.  Sad but true.  That said, I'd love to see them restored.

Perhaps if you were to hire one of those guys who made new panels for the '67 Impala in Mark's thread... biggrin

I know of two guys who put $50,000 and $90,000 into 73 GTO's restoration.

One of them said it was the hardest restoration he ever did and said never again on a 73-77 Colonnade of any description.

The more I look at it....its got super rare Rally Gauges which gave you a tach, oil pressure, temp gauge, ideal for a 4 speed, its got the handling package too, stripes, posi and a 3.23 axle ratio. Someone who ordered this knew exactly what they were doing.

Someone who's good with sheetmetal fabrication could repair that car even it they had to buy a rust free donor car say from our southern neighbours.....Would be a real neat car to save though. Is that car an American car hence the L78 400 when Ray's has a BBC in his? Was there US/Canadian cars?

I find it interesting that this car is Oshawa built with a Pontiac engine. I thought that the cars with the Pontiac engines were built in the states.

That all changed in the early 70's.

In the LeMans line from 1970 cars built in Oshawa were made with 400 and 455 Pontiac engines for Canadian Market. Far and away the most often ordered and used V8 was the St. Catharines built Chevrolet small block, 350 and 305 in this era both 2bbl and 4bbl and fitted with dual exhausts ending in 1974. Although L48's came from Tonanwanda.

Finding a blue block Oshawa car is a rarity, but they were built. In fact Oshawa did build cars for export to US and these even had Pontiac 350's installed as well as 400 and 455. Oshawa LeMans do have some nuances that differentiated them from a US built LeMans most in the wiring and electrical which are more Chevelle like since Oshawa also built Chevelles. Most of the under hood electrical set up is reversed when a Pontiac engine is used and of course Chevy hoses don't work on Pontiac engine.

Big Ray's Legendary 454 LeMans left Oshawa with a Chevrolet 350, its a backyard hot rod, but a simple swap since it was built with a Chevrolet engine in the first place. The one and only year for a factory 454 in a Canadian Pontiac was 1970 in the B bodies.

See my swap story: https://canadianponcho.activeboard.com/t45959497/454-into-1973-lemans-swap/

PS: I was telling my son about the 74 4 speed car last night, he said so it came from the factory like that and there are only 77 made? What are we doing, lets get the Canadian out west with a few of the guys and bring her back.

It's you Ray!!!   Go bust open the piggy bank.

PS:  Your son refers to the Canadian, I presume he's talking about the VIA Rail passenger train service from Toronto to Vancouver, through Saskatoon & Edmonton.  You'd have to make a bit of a detour as the car is near Odessa SK, which looks like it's about 45 minutes SE of Regina.
