Tracking 62 Parisienne 2 Dr HT

I am simply trying to identify how many 1962 Parisienne 2 Dr HT out there and wondering if you guys would let me know if you have one or know of any that are on the road.  I see a few of you have 63 & 64's but haven't seen or heard of 62 other than mine.  I will be posting in the parts wanted that I am looking for backup lights.  Like everything else, 62 is different.  I have a set for a 66 but they are considerably smaller.

There is a nice 62 two door hardtop here in Newfoundland. I have seen it in person and it is a very nice car. www.nlclassifieds.com/FOR-SALE-Harbour-Main-Newfoundland-Labrador-NLCId2803505

I looked at this car when it was for sale by  a previous owner about 7 years ago. It's originally from Manitoba and was very clean and solid.

It does look nice and clean.

I sold my 62 convert about 10 years ago. The 61-62 is definitely less common than the 63-64. To me, the 62 is a very nice looking car, maybe I am just biased.

Wow!  That's a beautiful car.  If I wasn't so deep into mine I'd give him a call.  It was interesting to see the Pontiac valve covers on it and can't help but wonder if someone put them on from another year.

I'm in the same boat.  Project car from Ontario and parts car from Manitoba, both 2 dr HT.  I was interested to see your valve covers have Pontiac on them, same as the one in Nfld, mine don't but the engine code shows it's the original motor.  I wonder if it was a plant thing???

It's a mixed blessing for sure. I like the 63 and 64 as well and it's much easier to get parts for them.

I was talking to the owner of that 62 a couple of months ago and he told me he had just had the engine rebuilt. He was considering painting it but I thought what looked to me like original paint was pretty good. If I had known then that he was going to sell it I would've had a better look at it as I had just sold my 61 Impala but since bought a 52 Belair.

Yes, I am definitely interested in connecting with someone else on Canadian Poncho has one but am also interested in finding out how many are still on the road, where ever they are.  With the exception of the 1 in Nfld, which seems to be the best and one of the 1's in Vancouver area, the other 2 or 3 I can find are either project or parts cars.  I suspect my car will be rare when I get it on the road and would like to establish how rare if that is possible.

I see a few around, I guess I notice more because I had one. Most of the ones I see however are 4 doors. I think they are much more rare than a 64.

Thanks, I haven't even see a 4 door on the road in NS.  To the best of my knowledge, 61 and 62 are the only years you can't buy any body parts for, which is bound to make them more rare.  When you add in the 2 Dr HT, you've narrowed it down even more.

That's true....My 62 was quite rusty when I got it. I had to make everything to repair the body. This was in the early 90s.

That's my take as well, going purely by cars for sale on the internet, there seems to be way more '63-'64s out there than '61-'62s.  Pretty rough data though.

I can definitely relate!  Mine looked prettier from a distance until you start to peal off the body fill.  Thank heavens they are on Chevy frames and the floor pans are the same.
