Help with identifying this pontiac NOS part

Hello, I found this part in with some parts I purchased.

The GM part number is 5764539, Bar Assy.  The box says Pontiac on it.

The GM label looks to be in the 1950's.

Any help in identifying what this part is would be greatly appreciated.

Does anyone have an American parts book that covers 1959?
I'm looking to confirm ( or not ) that this part interchanges with a Catalina.

I have the catalogue, thanks to Pontiax. Sorry, it's not the same as Catalina which uses 533299.

Is there any chance that this part is the same for Canadian and American cars, even though the part numbers are different?

From the pictures I have looked at, they look the same to me.

It would be unlikely but not impossible. I've seen some grilles and parts over the years that looked the same, were the same AND carried the same part number for US/Canadian.
