Flea Market Find = 1960s matchbox motorways race set

Saw this at a local flea market - had never seen one before - the seller says it is from 1969

 

I don't remember this toy from my childhood but I was much more into hot wheels when this set would have been brought out

 

Price is 175.00 ( which based on Ebay selling prices is in the ballpark) seller says it has the cars and is like new inside - at that price I am definitely out - it's a low interest item for me - I just like seeing it from the nostalgia aspect from an era when kids toys were still interesting

I had the same set when I was a big Matchbox collector. It's an ingenious design (and pretty noisy too)
