Agree Pete about the Canuck bucks thingy......cry......Just double what you might pay in US$.

If you buy a car for US$30,000 it will be close to CA$60,000 in your driveway licensed and ready.

US Exch, US tax, shipping and then your US price is changed to Canuck bucks for the dreaded HST add on.

If you are bringing it home yourself add hotel, meals, gas and some kind of alcoholic support.....biggrin

The 1st generation F85s were a rarity in Canada. I  remember only seeing one as a little kid in the 1960s, it was a '62 and it was rusted to the point of scrappage by 1970.

A friend (Warren) has a '62 F85 Cutlass that was sold new in Kitchener to the wife of the head of the Seagram's distillery (would that make her a Bronfman or a Seagram?). It would have come at a premium as it was before the Auto Pact & would have had duty slapped on. The car had a Slim-Jim automatic. Warren ditched the Slim Jim & swapped in a Warner 5-speed manual. He also swapped in 4-wheel disk brakes but left the aluminum 215 V8. He also had a custom chambered exhaust system built. I've driven it from Windsor to Toronto. It had a very healthy crackle in the exhaust. Formerly medium blue metallic with a white 2-tone from the factory, it is currently grey.

(10 year old pics. Don't the tail lights look like they're from a '58 Pontiac?) below.gif

I also remember back in 1977 a local guy in Ancaster who imported nice cars from the U.S., imported a '62 Olds F85 Cutlass that was absolutely gorgeous and in amazing original shape. Original paint & interior, medium red metallic with a white roof & red buckets, plus factory tint. It wasn't turbo'd but it was a high compression 4-barrel.

I have virtually no knowledge of these cars, but the shifter shows P-N-D-S-L-R... wouldn't that indicate a 3-speed?
