I bought two extra little clips to hold the wires for 5+7 and 6+8 but they didn't really work out. They were not on my motor to begin with and I dont think the factory put em on either...I just left them on...Got the driveline backin and fired up on my birthday,May 18th. birthday present to myself! Fuel line leaked at the pump and the water pump dripped from the rear cover...A bit of a bugger but not as much as having to drop the tranny pan because I didnt get the pin on the shift shaft rooster comb properly engaged with its valve and only got reverse in all gears...Ugh. I googled this problem and found a post over on a chevy forum discussing this exact faux pas!! Thank goodness I didnt have to pull the tranny out again. All is well now and she fired right up! Running like a top with a new sticker on the plate!!
Looks real good. I had those spark plug guards on my 59, and the spark plug wire holders.

Hi guys,I hope everyone is well. Yup have taken her out for a couple of short trips around locally. I had to adjust my kickdown linkage as it was upshifting way too soon. That adjustment solved the problem. Hold the throttle wide open..Pull the linkage into detent...Adjust linkage so it slips into place just short of wide open throttle..Voila! No leaks underneath. I splurged and bought myself a digital timing light that does dwell and total advance as well but haven't used it yet. On another front I found a 1963 driveline for sale and managed to put a deal together for just the motor. It's a complete original setup from pan to air cleaner! Including an original aluminum "Canada" ignition coil! Very very dirty but exactly what I have been looking for to bring the car back to stock. The intake, carb and beather are all 1963 correct. It came out of a Laurentian on a farm in Alberta. My son who lives in Calgary picked it up has has presented to me for father's day! I love it but my beautiful wife is looking sideways at me lol!

Good stuff. Something to take your time and tinker with.

Fathers Day is a good day to pull something like that off Otus. Good timing.
