Two cars sold

Well unfortunately or fortunately which ever way you look at it I have sold both my 1958 Pontiac Parisienne and 1965 Mercury Park Lane!  A collector who I have known for many years heard about the Pontiac up for sale and made me a super offer on it and the Mercury!  Am I out of the hobby no not quite yet as I now own a beautiful low mileage (34,800) all original 1965 Thunderbird. It has just about every option you could order in 1965 including factory working A/C and even power vent windows! Some pix of it are attached. Interesting that norontcan (Ted Scott) took the last pix that is shown on Canada day 2019 the very day car was put up for sale (but I did not know about it until I saw it advertised on Kijij in the fall). He lives near the town where I bought car!  I will be removing my Avatar but will still keep my log on name and will chime in from time to time.  Todd my personal thanks for keeping this wonderful web page up and running I have thoroughly enjoyed it over the years as a member.  Bob.

Looks like the last pix that Ted took does not come up until you click picasabackground-005

I'm sad to hear that the beautiful Merc and Pontiac are gone, but that new Bird sure is nice! Should lessen the pain!

Bob, congratulations on your new oldie. Sad to see that beautiful 58 Poncho gone. I know that Ken Mcgee bought the Poncho and the Merc you had but it looks like he is selling both cars now. I got on Ken Mcgee's web site where he sell automotive literature and also sells vintage cars. Both your Poncho and your Mercury are up for sale. He kept those cars less than a year it seems. He did have them in his museum. I wonder why he is selling them so shortly after purchasing them. Cheers.

Congratulations on the sale Bob. I'm glad you'll chime in from time to time. Your T-bird looks fantastic. I always liked that style of Thunderbird.

I loved your Park Lane but that TBird is an absolute knockout. Love the color combo. Congratulations.

Can you imagine walking into a Ford showroom in the fall of 66 to see that. I'd be in lust.

I was sorry to hear that Ken sold the Pontiac but since he is both a collector and a dealer guess money is always the bottom line. I certainly got what i needed for the cars and if he could make a profit on them then thats the way business goes!   Just hope the new owner will look after the car.  Bob.

A couple of years ago I sold a pair of 70 Chevelles to a young man and he was intent on building his dream car. He got a reasonably good deal on the cars and some body repair parts. Well life interest changed on his part and he decided to sell the car. He actually contacted me to see if it was okay to resell the car! I was really impressed by this young mans sense of responsibility, he didnt want me to think that he bought the car just to flip it. I said to him that its his car and he could do whatever he wanted to do with it.
