Weird knobs/buttons (yellow and white) on each side of the column.

I think there's a drawing of the RHD 3 on the tree linkage in the assembly manual or parts book. I'm going to have to look at it to see if that would explain that. Must be quite a linkage setup to run to the other side of the Saginaw 3 speed.

The white button on the base of the column if for a steering column lock. must have been an export requirement in certain countries. I have seen it on lots of RHD chevelles and beaumonts
All A body RHD cars from 1964 to 1967 use the RH 1964 chevelle dash
The Chevelle assembly manuals for 1964 and 1965 show great detail of all the RHD parts, i bet there is 50 pages or more just on RHD linkages, etc.

MY BEAUMONT HAS 4 STUDDED TIRES AND 2 BLOCKHEATERS......AND LOTS OF OIL UNDERNEATH. The other one has a longer roof.
It seems like only six-cylinder 4-doors were made RHD, be they base or Custom, or even sport sedan with power windows. Every single RHD I have seen also had D99 moldings.
With your left hand, towards you and down for 1st or up for reverse, then away and up for 2nd. Throw it down for high. Gently though, or lock-up is imminent.
When I was in pre-bombing Bali I saw RHD North American GM stuff from a 62 Impala sport sedan to a new Opel (Chevy) Blazer. Our Mitsubishi minibus was a 4-in-the-tree RHD

Same as LHD, just with the opposite hand. Only RHD vehicle I ever drove had the turn signal and wiper control sticks on opposite sides of the steering column. I can't tell you how many times I turned on the wipers when coming up to a turn...
I have been "turning over every rock" to identify its GM of Canada identity to assist the owner to document this car.
Those of you in this group who've met me know I like a challenge. I've got eight of the twelve numbers of the VIN.
We have with assistance of the owner been probing this car for any identification the owner can take to GM of Canada
to get paper work
Its very cool to be able to assist someone bring a car back to a safe driving vehicle. Its a bonus when its a 1966
Beaumont Custom that happens to be final assembled in Port Elizabeth, South Africa.
Had some sleepless nights and a couple dreams thanks to this car.
