67 Conv B-body model kit

Hi guys

As a kid I had a model of a 65 and for a while I've been searching for one of a 67. I came across this model on the net but finding one for sale is a different challenge.

Has anyone ever seen one for sale?

Cheers.

A friend of mine is a huge vintage model collector (and builds the prototype models the company Polar Lights uses on their boxes). I sent him an email asking if he knows of any for sale.
His basement looks like a hobby shop from the 1960's. If anyone will know of one available it's him.

One word of warning is about Palmer model kits.  They typically had great box art, but the models contained within usually had really bad proportions, ending up looking somewhat like a caricature of the real car.

Try to stick with the MPC kits, like Todd linked to.  They had great proportions, and in fact MPC also made the dealer promos that were handed out at car dealerships back in the day.  Those promos do show up for sale on the net from time to time as well, so they are another option.

Thanks for the advise. Actually the dealer promo would be the ideal but $400.00 is a bit steep, I did find one on Ebay. https://www.ebay.ca/itm/Rare-Original-Vintage-Pontiac-Dealer-Promo-Car-1967-Bonneville-Convertible-Blue/303289691997?hash=item469d796f5d:g:FVQAAOSwycldXuru

Mark is right. I got a reply from my collector friend. He also said the quality of that kit leaves much to be desired. He said he doesn't know of any currently for sale.

I've been looking off and on for '67 through '69 full size Pontiac models.  They are out there, but can be pricey.  IMHO, the best deals are on ones that were built and will have to be blown apart, paint stripped and built again, if you can find them, but just like the real ones, you have to make sure all the parts are there as they can be difficult to find.  Or, you might be able to find two incomplete ones with enough parts to make one.  If you find one with good body and interior but missing chassis pieces, the 1970 was reissued a few years ago, so you could find one of those to scavenge for chassis pieces...

Good luck!

I searched for a built Palmer '67 Pontiac online, but haven't found one yet.

However here are pics of a few other Palmer kits that I found to give you an idea of what to expect:

Saw this pic of a Palmer model display on another messageboard and I thought it would be appropriate for this thread...

Sorry, Bernie, it's not mine. I was just posting pics I found from the internet to show examples of Palmer kits.  '68s are hard to find as they were last done in 1968.  I hope you can find one for your friend.

Are you looking for a brand new kit or something used that can be rebuilt? I may have a built unpainted 67 Bonneville 2 dr ht. I'll look for it if it will meet your needs. Let me know. Thanks

By the way I had a few Palmer kits when I was young. Quality was very poor as someone else here has noted.
