Why are the new GM pick ups being crapped on. I am just curious. Cheers.
It's the hobby. Ford and Mopar guys crap on GM vehicles, Ford and GM guys crap on Mopar vehicles, Mopar and GM guys crap on Ford vehicles. It's all in fun, no need to take it personally.
FWIW, there are a number of people out there who are into all vehicles, regardless of brand. Even they will find this funny because, well, it is. I never thought of those dual exhaust finishers to be forklift pockets but now that's all I will think of...
You want to talk about companies making it easier for auto recyclers? Just look at Ford F150s... light 'em on fire and there's not much left to recycle afterwards...

Wow! Taillights survived but not much else.
It's been an issue since they went to aluminum and composite materials on their trucks. Not sure how important it is to ownership, as it's always bad when your vehicle catches fire. Probably better to melt away than to have somebody attempt to put a heat-annealed body back on the road...
"if you have ever seen a vehicle with aluminum construction burn, it turns into a pool of metal. Aluminum has a much lower melting point so the heat of a burning vehicle is intense enough to literally turn the softer alloy into liquid."

Yep.
This past Summer a guy shoveled the remnants (basically, some wires and black blobs) of a F**d pick up that burnt into our Watch Watch (dump) disposal bin. I wish I had pictures, because the truck it was all piled into for delivery was a Chevy.
F**ds really are junk.

I had a Ford pickup from the "good" era: 1993. Had the bulletproof 300 C.I six.
We have two later model Ford F550's that we use at work. The 6.0 diesels in these were a nightmare. You basically need to buy the $2000 US aftermarket "Bulletproof Kit" to keep them together. We swapped early Cummins 5.9's into them. Problem solved.

I was with you, Darryl, until your last statement... but you already knew that.
Honestly, I have never been so loyal to any corporation that I would intensely love their products and hate all others, but I realize it's just part of the fun, needling others about their brand preference. I don't think I would ever own one of the big 3's trucks anyhow, since they became so ridiculously large, like a cartoon almost. But to each his own...

I mostly like orphans ... Studes, Hudsons, etc. Maybe that's why I like Canadian Pontiacs (even Canadian F**ds)

Think Ive mentioned before Id be happy with any of them but do like my Chevy. Think many of us dont have a chance to compare because we only drive our own truck. Ended up renting a Ford the last couple times at the Ottawa airport. Beautiful ride but barely made it out of the underground parking because of the difference to me in the turning radius. Laughed to myself today as I was coming home from Indian Wells as a Ford pickup was attempting a legal u turn in front of me. There was 3 lanes to make it but that wasnt quite enough as they had to back up from the curb to make the turn. Brought back memories for me leaving the airport parking lot.
