Hello, I was wondering if anyone could help me with my vin code. 52271619887 was wondering how many of these years were built and mabey were it came from?
Off the top of my head, it has to have been built in Oshawa as they didn't make any American Pontiac sedan deliveries after 1953. ( I think)
It is likely to be one of a few hundred or so as they wouldn't have made too many for this limited market. That number is a compete guess but it would certainly be a rare car(truck?) Good for you for snagging this! I hope its in good shape.
Sine you have a VIN I would recommend you use the services of Vintage vehicle services if you want to find out more from the most official source. They have access to the old GM of Canada records of production so I have found out some really good info about my stuff.
Their info for the 60's is pretty good but I'm not sure how detailed they could be about the 50's.

I thank you for your information and the link to more information. Yeah it's a delivery car. This is a very good runner. It's pretty cool looking. It was well looked after over time. It's not perfect but it's in super nice shape for 65 years old. Thanks again ..
Here's what I've been able to come up with
5 = year = 1955
2 = GM division = Pontiac
2 = Series = Pathfinder both 6cyl and V8
71 = body style = my book does not show this ( now here is a wild ass guess = GM didn't consider the sedan delivery as a car but rather as a truck so it doesn't show in my car book? )
6 = # cylinders = 6
19887 = sequential production number
Being a Pathfinder it would have been manufactured in Oshawa.
