Little double header, Friday Pomona and today Indian Wells

Full week down here as I have 6 friends down for the races in Pomona. To me Friday is my favourite as there are no gaps as everyone is still qualifying. Only took some videos but took a couple pictures in the pits as almost every engine gets tore down at least partly.

Very nice owner who bought this original back in 91 and sold it about 20 years later. Felt bad he let it go and had a chance to buy it back a couple years ago.

So one more reference back to Allen Grant and the Ford vs Ferrari movie. This Lola was a prototype that Ford bought to design their GT40 from. Allen then bought it from Ford and has owned it ever since. Worth a few dollars now.

Agreed. Although riding it on PEI roads would be a challenge. Only for the huge cities of Charlottetown and Summerside.wink

Is this a 57 Fury?  Looks like the car used in the 1983 John Carpenter thriller, "Christine".

I don't know my Mopars at all but I noticed the license plate and I'm guessing he's saying it's a 59. Sort of like a FAKE_66 only different!

Just about think it was a 59. Not even sure the exact model though.

I missed the 59 on the plate.  Great pics btw, some excellent looking cars and a great way to spend the day.

That red 59 (Fury, Belvedere or Savoie??) sure jumps out.  I hope I am not derailing your thread but here are a few pics of Christine.  (or some of the 25 of them that were bought up, fixed up and destroyed)

As different as it is, I love the 59 Plymouth. But my favorite is the brown 63 409/425 Impala. Thanks for sharing your photos.
