I am very seriously thinking about doing this EFI conversion to my 74 400 V-8. Not so much for power increase but for better fuel economy. It is real brutal driving my 74 Chev wagon any real distances. The money i go through in gas is bone chilling. With the stock air cleaner on, you can not even tell that the EFI is there. You just have to be creative with all the wiring. It is probably around $1,200 when all is said and done and i might see it pay for itself in short order, considering the nutty price for gas i am paying now. Something worth considering for folks that actually drive their oldies. Those that use their vintage cars for dust collectors, garage props and stationary art, obviously do not have to worry about absurd gas consumption. Cheers.

I found that when I switched over to the FI TECH fuel injection all I had to do was to turn on the key, wait a few seconds and then hit the starter and it fired up instantly.
Under the carb system it would crank over for 2 or 3 minutes.

Haven't really put on many miles so can't comment on fuel mileage.

Runs real sweet, pulls strong.

350 with auto.

Good idea George. I like the idea of not having to weld on a bung for the O2 sensor.

Flamin oath mate! Modern EFI is absolutely the bees knees! I also installed an O2 wideband sensor and AFR meter for tuning. A carb motor will also benefit from an AFR meter. Welding the bungs in was easy peasy banana squeazy!

I'm sure it would. You might need to get a custom tune from Holley or the system may learn on it's own as you drive it.
